The Ride

Riding to Give Back

Kevin Riley and Eddie Burgos have built lives rooted in friendship, service, and community. They played together, raced together, and got into the kind of trouble you only get into at twelve.

Now they're sixty. The trouble is mostly behind them. The bikes are still with them.

What began as a friendship at Westridge Middle School grew into decades of dedication to Central Florida. Kevin served the City of Orlando as a firefighter, while Eddie dedicated his career to public service with Orange County. Together, they've spent their lives giving back to the community that helped shape them.

To celebrate this milestone year, on October 10, 2026, they're taking on an extraordinary challenge: a 120-mile bicycle ride from Orlando at Z.L. Riley Park, a location that holds special significance to the Riley family, to Clearwater Beach.

More importantly, they're using this moment to give back once again. Proceeds from the event will benefit Westridge Middle School, where their friendship first began, helping provide opportunities and resources for today's students.

120 miles. 60 years. One friendship. Giving back.
